Self-care Saturday with The Skin Workshop
At V-Land we believe that self-care is important now more than ever. Engaging in self-care routines is clinically proven to help increase happiness, improve energy levels and minimize frustration. To help us relax this Saturday, The Skin Workshop has sent us a wonderful selection of products to try and review for our readers.
It is easy to get caught up in our day-to-day lives, to the point where we forget to take time for ourselves. By taking some time out of our busy lives for some self-care, it helps to relieve some of the pressures of everyday life. Self-care is pretty self-explanatory - caring for yourself. This includes anything that you do to keep yourself, yourself. Whether that’s a scenic walk, tucking into a good book or treating yourself to a relaxing bath.
One of the best ways to exercise a little self-care is by making your skincare routine something enjoyable, a chance to focus on yourself. An effective and efficient skincare ritual can be a therapeutic process that sets us on track to feel our best.
The Skin Workshop believes that wellness and self-care should be a priority for more people. All of their products are cruelty-free, vegan and palm oil-free. They are passionate about raising awareness for mental health, using their brand to promote self-care and wellness within the beauty industry, and on a wider scale too. At the company's heart, its ethos is to let its customers know that anyone should be able to access skincare without prejudice or feeling judged.
Another great thing about The Skin Workshop is that they work to give back to worthy causes. On their products is a little logo that represents ‘Work for Good’ - this means that for every sale of their products, 5% will go directly to a charity that they have chosen. Currently they are supporting The Laura Hyde Foundation, which are working to support front-line and emergency workers with their mental health.
We were excited to receive three of their products; an Anti-Pollution Spritz; 5% Niacinamide Serum and 1% Bakuchiol Serum. Firstly, we thought their packaging was amazing. With recyclable outer packaging that had a modern and vibrant design that would look great on anyone's shelf. The bottles themselves look unique, clean, and modern. A great option on their website is that you can order their products without the extra packaging, so you can reduce waste.
The Anti-Pollution Spritz is something that we hadn’t heard of before, but after using it, we won’t soon go without it. The Spritz was perfectly refreshing, offering skin protection against pollution, blue light, and environmental toxins. It is formulated with marine botanicals, vitamins A, C, and E, as well as other antioxidants. The Skin Workshop promotes that defending your face with a protective barrier spray like this can be antiaging and help provide collagen. Once we got into the habit of using the product daily we grew to love it. We felt it left our skin feeling more glowy and healthy, as the spritz held in moisture. The best thing is, this product is safe for all skin types, which is great for those with sensitive skin.
The 1% Bakuchiol Serum is an oil-based serum that has anti-aging, firming, and skin-toning abilities. This is a product that we found extremely relaxing and the perfect fit for your self-care routine. The serum helps to calm skin which is perfect for people who have sensitive skin. It is also great for helping restore firmness, refining skin texture, and evening out skin tone. With oat protein, this product helps to moisturize and condition your skin, leaving your skin feeling extra soft. We loved using this product at night time, but can also be used as part of your morning ritual.
Finally, the 5% Niacinamide Serum, this one is a water-based serum that boosts your skin’s protective barrier, which naturally decreases with age. This product is also suitable for all skin types, offering radiance and a more even skin tone. Niacinamide is also known as vitamin B3 and helps to fight aging by keeping your skin hydrated and moisturized. This product is also great for acne and lightening your skin. This should be applied to clean skin, massaged in until fully absorbed, and is best used in the morning.
Other products that they offer include biodegradable cleansing pads, a coffee bean scrub for head to toe, moisturising body bars and other goodies like tote bags and applicators. Make sure to check out The Skin Workshop’s Instagram or website to browse their products and find out more.
